15+ Years of Delivery & Leadership
Specializing in Supply Chain & Operations Solutions
Lav has been working with us on the delivery of a reporting platform for Market Risk as part of the 2017 BCBS 239 book of work. Through the work that Lav has been undertaking through the last four months, Lav has shown considerable commitment to enabling us to achieve the requirements that have been defined in what under most circumstances would be considered as an insufficient time allocation to achieve delivery. In my opinion, Lav should be recognized as a role model and potential thought leader in within the BI space. He is someone who never gives up and strives to deliver the absolute best that can be achieved, generally exceeding the expectation that I as a project manager have placed upon him. Lav is a credit to his team and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with him on future deliverables.
Project Manager · Market Risk Reporting Platform (BCBS 239)
I can confidently say Lav has an incredible ability to engage in high-level business discussions with the business, translating complex business concepts into strategic technical projects. His ease in driving business concepts/requirements through the use of analytical solutions is exceptional. It's clear to me that Lav's capabilities stretch far beyond his technical expertise—he has a unique ability to influence and shape business outcomes.
Data & Analytics Leader · 30+ Years of Experience
Our SPA Analytics capabilities in general have grown substantially and have allowed us to react in near real time to the changes in the market related to these accounts. We have really able to utilize this data to help drive decision making and work towards keeping our Sales Team, Distributors, and SPA Accounts informed and on track. Needless to say, we are truly starting to see the real impact of the SPA Dashboard at this point, and it is only continuing to become more and more crucial to our Company's success. I would like to express is my sincerest gratitude to Lav and all the hard work and late nights we spent over the past few years working together on this project. It has been truly a great experience from my end both professionally and personally.

The case studies below reflect solutions I personally architected and built, alongside leading and coaching teams through 100+ other initiatives for 28 customers over the last 15+ years — from formally managing a 4-person BI team to informally mentoring analysts and client teams in an external tech lead capacity.
Beyond building solutions myself, 8+ of my 15+ years in Analytics have been spent growing the people, customers, and ideas around me — across 4 areaas: growing the BI Analytics functions, growing customer partnerships, growing the talent, and product thought leadership.
At Sarens, a European heavy lifting giant, I grew the BI Analytics function from 1 application to 15 over 4+ years while formally leading a team of 4 — personally building roughly half of the applications delivered and coaching the team end-to-end, from requirements gathering through delivery, on the rest. At a solar manufacturing client, I grew a single business unit's ~10 applications into 25-30 across three business units, designing one reusable architecture — parameterized by business unit — rather than rebuilding logic from scratch each time.
My approach to growing an engagement isn't to ask for a bigger budget — it's to show the customer why a piece of work matters before they've had to ask for it. That focus on value over scope has, on multiple occasions, led clients to expand engagements on trust, extending scope without negotiating budget line by line.
At Sarens, early in my career, a team of 4 reported to me formally — the company wanted to put my full technical potential to use growing and coaching the team, not just delivering solo. At Royal Bank of Scotland / NatWest Markets, I independently built the BCBS-239 platform, while also serving, without a formal reporting line, as a go-to technical resource for colleagues across the wider risk reporting program.
As a Principal Consultant, I coached a team of 5 BI analysts and developers over 4+ years, and separately directed client teams — in an external tech lead capacity — through 25-30 Qlik applications, providing pure technical direction while their teams executed. Even as my own recent work has shifted toward data engineering and architecture, I continue to lead the design thinking behind dashboards for Power BI developers to build.
Beyond individual client engagements, I've contributed product feedback to Inphinity Forms Writeback that helped shape platform improvements for their wider customer base — recognized as an Inphinity Champion, Top 20 Globally, for that contribution.
As a Consultant, and as a Leader
Whether I'm building the solution myself or leading the team that builds it, the same principles apply.
Pure technical experts burn hours just learning your business, while business analysts miss data complexities. I bridge both worlds—connecting business domains, processes, and underlying data. When kicking off a new initiative, I ask the right questions from day one. And when issues arise later, I check whether operational processes have evolved in the real world rather than diving blindly into validated code, saving wasted hours.I pass on this business-first perspective when coaching technical teams as well.
In an era of AI suggestions and "out-of-the-box" platform shortcuts, human judgment matters most. I don't blindly accept default features that mask long-term flaws. Drawing from extensive cross-industry experience, I critically evaluate every architectural choice—prioritizing security, reusability, and scalability, while keeping builds clean and simple. Proven by systems I’ve architected running seamlessly in production years after launch.
Most dashboards are just a wall of charts—numbers looking backward, telling you what happened and leaving you to figure out the rest. While "going beyond dashboards" is a common promise, I deliver insights that reveal real business impact and not only tell you what to do about it, but also let you act on it. By embedding workflows directly into the analytics, operations can execute actions on the spot—eliminating fragmented systems, boosting productivity, and driving lasting strategic impact, consistently validated by stakeholders and recognized by product vendors.
Most experts focus on the current problem and build exactly what you ask for, nothing more. Acting as a strategic advisor, I look at the bigger picture and think long term—bringing proactive recommendations from my broad experience that go far beyond the initial ask. This delivers unexpected business value, maximizes ROI, and builds deep trust and lasting relationships.
The same approach whether I'm the one executing it, or the one leading the team that does.
Every project starts with understanding where the business actually stands. Sometimes the problem is already known. Sometimes we have to uncover the problem from the data. And sometimes it means questioning results that look successful on the surface. I work with senior executives, department heads, SMEs, and process owners to identify which scenario applies and determine the right path forward — the same discovery process I lead a team through when I'm not the one running point.
Once we know where the business stands, I translate that into a trusted data foundation — treating every solution as enterprise infrastructure: designing scalable architectures and reusable logic, built correctly the first time, with standardized business rules, robust privacy and access controls, and visibility into data quality issues as they emerge. When I'm leading a team, this is the standard I coach them to build to.
Wherever Business Discovery finds the business today, I turn what we uncover into insights that reveal broader business impact across other areas — and what to do about it. I close the loop between insight and action without requiring a separate system. This drives broader business outcomes and value, and it's the thinking I pass on to a team so they can spot the same opportunities without me.
Margin recovery. Cost savings. Customer retention. Employee productivity. Stronger, more productive collaboration across departments. This is the payoff when Insights become Action — delivered personally, or through a team I've built to deliver it.
